Built to serve.
VibrantLiving’s rich heritage of serving seniors extends back more than 100 years to 1902, when Swedish Baptist immigrants founded Fridhem, Home of Rest. The first community opened in 1905 in a rented house in Chicago. At that time, residents cut the grass, gathered the eggs, and milked the cows. A permanent home was built and opened in Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood in 1906. In 1973, the facility in Chicago was replaced with a new care center – called the Fairview Baptist Home – and was relocated to nearby Downers Grove, Illinois. Between 1992 and 1994, accommodations for residential living – in the form of garden homes, townhomes, and apartments – were added and the community became known as Fairview Village Campus. Today, the center is known simply as Fairview.
VibrantLiving has expanded its services in the senior living field beyond Fairview to include the communities of Fred Lind Manor in Seattle, Washington, and Crimson Pointe in Rockford, Illinois.
